    Overview

Zoroastrianism, the oldest monotheistic religion in the world, was the official religion of Iran in the Sassanid era. Therefore, Zoroastrians have settled across Iran during the history and currently Yazd hosts the majority of Zoroastrian population in Iran. Consequently, the city embraces the traces of this religion more than any other city in the country. In this half-day tour in Yazd, we offer a quick and comprehensive insight to the history and culture of the Zoroastrianism in a course of the time.

    What To Expect

Your tour starts with a pick up at your accommodation. We first go to the Zoroastrian History and Culture Museum to gain knowledge about their holy scripts, religious rituals and everyday lives. Then, we head for the fire temple, the worshiping place of the Zoroastrians. This holy place is one of the nine places holding the highest-grade fire of the Zoroastrians. Our next destination is a unique experience you may not find in other typical travels. We go to the Tower of Silence, the amphitheater of the death! As Zoroastrians did not pollute the elements of the nature, they did not bury their corpse in the ground. Come with us to know more about the details of the Zoroastrian’s burial rituals.
